This painting was meant to evoke a few scenes in one. From a distance it is meant to look a bit like either an angel or a woman being burnt at the stake. Up closer, it is a gathering of scavenger animals dressing up a scarecrow that was meant to scare them away. It is a twisting of Cinderella's mice helping her get dressed. The cobbled-together figure of the female scarecrow has found friends- the very beings she was made to frighten away.
Originally painted on 24''x18'' watercolor paper with black ink, watercolors, and gel pens
