Lovebirds
Originally painted on 18''x24'' watercolor paper with black ink, watercolors, and gel pen.
October 2025
There are several species of birds that mate for life. One of the lesser-known of these species is the humble turkey vulture.
I have a turkey vulture couple that lives in my neighborhood. When I leave the house early enough, I can sometimes spot them on a little date, cleaning up our streets.
I wanted to make a painting of what I imagine one of these little dates looks like when they're about to leave the nest.
