As a child, I thought that squirrels secretly came out at night to paint the trees in the fall. To me, it was the only logical answer as to who was painting the trees because only the squirrels could get up in the tree high enough.
When asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I'd often say "I want to paint the trees" and I guess I just imagined working alongside these dedicated squirrel artists.
I wanted to finally be able to show what my childhood brain imagined.
